Exclusion Times for Illnesses

Exclusion Times for Illnesses

It can be difficult to know when your child is not well enough to attend school. For the health and wellbeing of your child, and all BNPS students and staff, you should always keep your child home (and seek medical advice) if they seem unwell. If you have to administer Panadol before school, your child is not school ready.

If your child has a temperature, has vomited or had diarrhoea, they must be completely well for 24 hours before returning to school. The 'Minimum Period of Exclusion for Infectious Diseases Cases and Contacts' is included below for your reference.

There can be some very debilitating illnesses and we are very conscious of the need to prevent contamination between students, staff and family. Please remind children of the need to regularly wash their hands and to cough or sneeze into their elbow, not their hands.
