Green Magpies and Green Gurruks

ABC Radio

Last Tuesday, Elsie McKinnon and Ruby Mansbridge had the amazing opportunity to speak on the ABC Central Vic Radio on behalf of the Green Magpies at EPS. They spoke about the upcoming Sustainability Summit and the importance of educating others about reducing ones' environmental impact. They were fantastic and we are so proud of them!

Thank-you to Miss Chamings for making this opportunity happen.

Greater Bendigo Climate Summit

On the 27th of May, Ruby Mansbridge, Phoenix Jirawathananan, Ayla Bickerdike, Ava Marland and Elsie McKinnon, were invited to speak on the Bendigo Local Youth panel at Ulumbarra Theatre.

They discussed their ideas to reduce environmental impacts on Bendigo by:

+ Reducing plastic packaging on fresh produce in supermarkets

+ Bigger fines for individuals and businesses for littering in the community

+ Increasing our renewable energy usage by creating solar panel paddocks

+ Establishing a eco-education hub in Bendigo to support the community.

They were absolute superstars and we are so incredibly proud of these legends for getting on the big stage and sharing their ideas to the 'big wigs' of climate control. Adults need to listen to children more often!

Thank you to the amazing Mrs Salm for organising and attending the Summit with our Green Magpies.

Rejuvenating the Bush Tucker Garden

Last week, our Green Gurruk parent team began work on rejuvenating the Bush Tucker Garden with our Indigenous leaders and Mrs Fullard. They spent the morning shoveling and racking rich soil and compost around the designated space to ensure the best success for our indigenous plants.
