Clean Up Australia Day

Clean Up Australia inspires and empowers communities to clean up, fix up and conserve our environment. 

On Friday the 5th of March, students from 3/4RS enthusiastically participated in Clean Up Australia Day at SJV. They armed themselves with gloves and bags and went on the hunt for rubbish around our school grounds. They looked everywhere - under playground equipment, in cracks and crevices, behind bushes and in trees! 

3/4RS worked hard to remove all litter from our school grounds. They then sorted the rubbish into our new bins - soft plastics, paper, mixed recycling and landfill. 

Schools have been participating in Clean Up Australia Day events for the last 30 years. Today the focus is as much on preventing rubbish entering our environment as it is removing what has already accumulated.
