Catholic Education Week
Happy St Patrick's Day!!!
At the Assembly on Monday we acknowledged Catholic Education week with the theme "Faith in our Future".
We celebrate 200 years of Catholic Education.
Our 1,751 Catholic schools across Australia are distinct and diverse. From metropolitan cities to rural, regional and remote parts of Australia, our schools meet the individual needs of their students differently, but with the same shared mission of an excellent, faith-based education.
At St John Vianney's we will continue to live, love and reach out to the world, bringing joy, hope peace in God's Name. As God's people we aspire to have Faith in our Future.
Fr Rob Galea has penned a song Faith in our Future.
Perhaps across the week you might like to listen and use this song as a prayer.
Prep Dinner
Last Wednesday's Prep dinner was a fantastic way to welcome our Preps in an informal way!!
Thank you to our staff and parents for coming along and demonstrating the importance of the home school partnership!!
Year 3 Fun Day
What a great afternoon and evening for our students. Please ensure that you have a look at our Year 3 Fun Day Clip featured in this newsletter.
Harmony Day
Our Harmony Day Celebrations and & Anti Bullying Awareness sessions last Friday were very well received by our students last Friday. Harmony Day gave us a further opportunity to unite as a school community. It was terrific to see all the students dress in traditional costume or with a touch of orange. Our cultural dances in particular created much excitement and were performed enthusiastically by our students. The Dance incursions held across the last few weeks were well worth it! In 2019 Australia was home to over 7.5 million migrants (29.7% of the population), and this number continues to rise each year.
Please read more and see our photos on our page dedicated to Harmony Day.
Anti - Bullying
It is so important that our students have a strong sense of been safe at school. Having positive relationships with peers, with teachers and having a positive mindset helps students to feel safe. Students are are aware of strategies to help make and maintain friendships. They are also aware of appropriate responses and actions including how to enlist help should they feel unsafe. Students are encouraged to report issues at the time of these occurring. If parents have concerns at any stage please ensure that you contact the class teacher as the first point of call.
