Calling All Rugby Players - Under 16 and Above !

All ASC students keen on Rugby Union are asked to scan in thee QR codes to come and join in on school representative rugby union .

On the 8th March ASC is sending a bus to Inverell for our students to trial in the three representative rugby teams available to them .

There is an Under 16s Boys trial day for NSW CHS Rugby . All boys turning 15 and 16 this year are asked to come to Inverell Highlanders Park to demonstrate the skills on the rugby paddock in front of NSW CHS and NSW Waratahs coaching staff . Boys who impress will be asked to further trials in Sydney during term 2 for a prized place in the NSW CHS under 16s Squad .

On the same day and venue , we also have Under 18s Trials for boys and girls . Women's professional Rugby Union and League are the fastest growing professional sports in Australia . Our ASC girls turning 16,17 or 18 this year can trial for a place in the North West Schools team who will participate in the NSW CHS carnival in Newcastle in early May . This is the very first all-girls state tournament in full contact rugby . From this carnival two girls NSW CHS teams will be picked and they will play against the private and catholic schools state team .

Also on the same day and at the same day is the boys under 18s North West Rugby Union trials . Boys from across our region will compete for one of twenty three places in the North West Squad . This team is coached by ASC's Industrial Arts and Agriculture teacher Mr Jason Walker . The boys will follow the same format as the girls and also play the state tournament in Newcastle in early May .

To nominate all a student has to do is to get a permission note from Mr Walker at School and scan in the QR code for the relevant team they want to trial for . It is hoped that ASC will win several paces in the North West teams this year . Good luck to our Eagles !
