SNOW UPDATE

I hope those families who have had snow settle at their place have enjoyed building some  snowmen! Keep sending the photos into school I love seeing them!

 

 

TOMORROW FRIDAY 11TH JUNE IS MOST LIKELY GOING TO BE A SIMILAR DAY AS TODAY. 

 

WE MAY ONLY HAVE A SKELTON STAFF AT SCHOOL TOMORROW DUE TO THE WEATHER & ROAD ACCESS.

 

WE WILL NOT KNOW WHAT BUSES WILL BE RUNNING UNTIL APPROXAMITLEY

7-8AM IN THE MORNING.

 

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND IF HAVE ANY CONCERNS ABOUT TRANSPORTING YOUR CHILD/CHILDREN TO & FROM SCHOOL PLEASE KEEP YOUR THEM AT HOME.

 I WILL RECORD A SNOW DAY IN THEIR ATTENDANCE RECORDS.

OPEN MORNING for 2022 Kindergarten Students was held today.

It was wonderful to welcome18 families to our Open Morning. 

We look forward to having the children back to start Transition in Term 3 Week 6.

MASS

Parents & Friends are welcome to join with the whole school for Mass tomorrow Friday 11th at 11:30am, in St Patrick's Church.

Monday 14th June - Public Holiday

I hope all of our families are able to enjoy some family time on Monday.

LET'S HANG IT - Une Art Competition 

Congratulations to our three finalists Claire, Indie & Sara.

 

Dear Principal,

We are happy to inform you that the following students are amongst a group of 60 finalists in the 2021 University of New England School Acquisitive Art Prize. There were 471 art entries this year and these works demonstrated the application of a very high standard of technical skill as well as creative expression. The selection committee commented that there was a wonderful diversity of art media and subject matter represented. Could you please inform the students of their success and extend our congratulations.

Semester 1 Reports 

 

Reports will be sent home electronically via the Compass parent portal & hard copies will be posted home at the end of Week 9. If parents have any questions after they receive their child's report they can contact the class teacher in week 10.                                       

Life Education Van

The life Education Van will be at St Patrick's Week 10 Tuesday 22nd & Wednesday 23rd June. 

JUNIOR WOOD WIND WORKSHOP

On Wednesday 24th June NECOM is hosting the Junior Wood Wind Workshop at St Patrick's School. All of our students in the Woodwind Band, Year 3, 4 & 5 will be participation in the the workshop. At the end of the day there will be a concert for the parents. We encourage parents to set aside 2:30pm - 2:50pm on Wednesday for the concert by St Patrick's Wood Wind Band. 

SCHOOL ASSEMBLY

Our last assembly for Term 2 is on Friday 18th at 10:30am

Upcoming Event Term 3 - New England Sings 2021 Term 3  for Years 3-6

NEW ENGLAND SINGS! 2021 COMBINED PRIMARY CHOIRS REHEARSAL SCHEDULE Armidale and surrounding schools – outreach schools will have rehearsals scheduled at their own school. However, outreach schools are welcome to attend the Armidale workshops if possible.

 

This exciting event is beginning to take shape, 16 schools (with approx. 500 choristers) in the combined Primary choirs and 14 schools (with approx. 450 choristers) in the Secondary choir. 

 

The 2021 project will include:

The commissioning of two works from wonderful Australian composers – Justine Clarke for the Primary choir and Luke Byrne for the Secondary choir.

 

Paul Jarman will be attending workshops throughout the year and will conduct the Primary choirs at the final weekend of rehearsals and concerts.

 

FIRST REHEARSAL Date: Thursday 22nd July (with Paul Jarman) 

Primary Choir 1: 11:00 – 12:30 

Venue: Auditorium, CB Newling Building (Old Teachers College) Cnr. Mossman & Faulkner Sts. Armidale

 

SECOND REHEARSAL Date: Thursday 19th August (with Paul Jarman)

 

THIRD REHEARSAL Date: Thursday 9th September (with Leanne Roobol) 

 

FOURTH REHEARSAL Date: Thursday 14th October (with Paul Jarman)

 

FINAL REHEARSAL (all schools, including outreach schools to attend):

Date: Saturday 16th October (directed by Paul Jarman) 

Time: Primary Choir 1 9:30am – 11:00am (arrive by 9:15am) 

 Venue: Lazenby Hall, UNE

 

CONCERTS: Date: Sunday 17th October (directed by (with Paul Jarman) 

Time: Primary Choir 11:00am – 1:00pm (arrive by 10:15am) 

Venue: Lazenby Hall, UNE

 

St Patrick’s School is an outreach school for the rehearsals but we will attempt to attend two of the rehearsals in Armidale. 

Parents will have to commit to the Saturday 16th October - Final Rehearsal and Sunday 17th October Concert. If they wish their child to participate in New England Sings.
