INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC

End of Year Instrumental Music Concert

On Monday 28 October, the Instrumental Music Department celebrated 2019 with our end-of-year concert extravaganza, hosted by Jonah Phillips, one of our Performing Arts Captains!

This was the first time that our Rookie Band (conducted by Mrs Kathy Elston) performed for an audience and wow, did they sound good!

It was fantastic to see our Year 7 students on stage for the first time.

Mrs Bronwyn Ventura and her LHS Concert Band showcased three fantastic pieces that students have been busy working on this semester and of course, Ms Amy Cumming’s Funk Band, finished the night with an awesome rendition of Higher Love.

Stephen McCulloch’s vocal and guitar ensembles really complimented the evening and as usual, Mr Malcolm Abbott’s drum ensemble was a crowd favourite, with an original piece written especially for the concert.

Thank You!

Thank you to all of our wonderful Instrumental Music teachers for the work you do with the students all year.

Thank you also and good luck to our wonderful Year 12’s who performed their last LHS gig; we are sad to see you go and appreciate all that you have done for music over the years.
