Melba Ave Level Crossing

Yarra Ranges Council recently surveyed local residents, businesses and the community surrounding Melba Avenue level crossing, which included Lilydale High School.

The purpose of this survey was to capture the level of support by the community to close Melba Avenue at the railway line. The proposal would only go ahead if Council and the local community supported the closure.

We received a lot of responses, with the majority preferring to keep Melba Avenue OPEN.

As a result, Council have adopted the local community’s position and responded to the Level Crossing Removal Project that Council and the community wish to keep Melba Avenue open.
