Year 9 Tasmania Camp

During the 9 tour of Tasmania, students visited;

  • Cataract Gorge
  • Freycinet National Park
  • Port Arthur Historic Site
  • Harbour cruise around the Isle of the Dead
  • Tasmanian Devil Unzoo
  • Devils Kitchen, Tasman’s Arch, Tessellated Pavement and Blow Hole
  • City Sights Tour  Hobart - Salamanca Place, Battery Point and Constitution Dock
  • Mt Field National Park

2020 Year 10 Central Australia Camp

As part of the Year 10 program, we are offering students the opportunity to go on a 9 Day Camp to Central Australia in 2020

 

Camp 1

Monday 27 April to Tuesday 5 May

Camp 2

Wednesday 29 April to Thursday 7 May     

 

Cost:     $1,550.00 

 

To secure a place on the camp for your son/daughter, the following payments must be paid on COMPASS or at the General Office by the due dates:

 

1st Payment $550  - Friday 6 December, 2019

2nd Payment $500 - Friday 14 February, 2020

3 rd Payment $500 -  Friday 20 March, 2020                   

PLEASE NOTE: Once the deposit is paid, payments can only be refunded if another student fills the vacated position on the camp.

 

Details of the camp are available on COMPASS for parents and guardians.

Year 10 Exams

Monday 2 December to Thursday 5 December

IMPORTANT EXAM INFORMATION:

  • Students must be in FULL SCHOOL UNIFORM to complete exams.
  • If students are absent on the day of an exam they will need to see the Coordinators to organise a catch up exam.
  • Any students with clashes or other issues with their exams will need to see the Coordinators.
  • Students can leave immediately after their last exam for the day.
  • STUDENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO LEAVE THE SCHOOL BETWEEN EXAMS AND THEN RETURN.

English Exam - Periods 1 and 2

IMPORTANT EXAM INFORMATION:

  • Students must be in full school uniform.  
  • Students are expected to arrive at school by 8.3 0 am.
  • Students are to REMAIN at school for the entire day.
  • Calculators will not be provided.  It is an expectation that students have their own calculator.
  • Students will not be able to use an iPad as a calculator.
  • Students must bring their student Compass id card. 
  • Students absent on this day, will need to see the Middle School Coordinators to arrange a catch up exam - date to be confirmed.

We look forward to seeing all students attend the 'End of Year Awards Assemblies' to celebrate student achievements during the course of the year.

Year 10 into Year 11 

ORIENTATION DAY

 

Thursday 12 December

Periods 2 to 6

Following the Year 10 Awards Ceremony on Thursday 12 December,  Year 10 students will attend Orientation sessions for their Year 11 classes in 2020.  

 

Orientation is compulsory for all Year 10 students who are returning in 2020.  Students will be provided with essential holiday homework during this time.

 

This includes VCAL students for 2020.

To ensure your child has a place, please pay your full payment of $345 on COMPASS by Friday 6 December, 2019.

YEAR 9 & 10 ABSENCES

Parents and guardians are asked to check COMPASS and approve ANY UNEXPLAINED ABSENCES your son/daughter may have for 2019.

 

We currently have many students will UNAPPROVED ABSENCES for;

 

Monday 4 November (Cup Eve)

Friday 18 October (Year 10 Formal)

Monday 11 to Friday 15 November (Year 9 students not attending the Year 9  camp)

 

Emails have been sent to parents/guardians requesting these dates to be parent approved.  Please assist us to fulfil our legal obligations and approve  promptly.

 

It is the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development policy that all student absences are accounted for. 

 

If you have forgotten your Compass username and password, please call Lauren Kelso in the Middle School Office.   Lauren can also assist you  with approving the absences for you.

Students NOT returning to LHS in 2020

Please NOTIFY the Middle School Coordinators as soon as possible, if your son/daughter is NOT RETURNING to Lilydale High School in 2020, to complete Year 10 or Year 11. 

 

An EXIT FORM will be required to be completed and returned to the Main Office by Friday 13 December.

School Uniform

Just a reminder to all students that the expectation is that everybody is in full school uniform at all times.  As the end of the school year draws closer, there is no reason that this should change.

 

Please ensure that you are in the correct socks and shoes. NO ‘hoodies’ are to be worn at school and undershirts should not be visible.
