A big thank you to all the parents, staff and coaches that made the event possible. The team behind the team is just as important as the one that takes the court. The players all out did themselves with their effort and commitment. Please remember to thank coaches and staff members who gave up their time to help you compete. Hopefully, students have already thanked parents for the time invested in getting to training and drop offs and pickups.
A few fantastic achievements, four teams have qualified for the Australian Volleyball Schools Cup Honours Division. Eltham High School has four teams that are state champions. A total of four gold medals, and a bronze medal were won. Three teams just missed out with 4th place. Special mentions to Erin Ryan (Year 8, Everard House) and Xanthe Watson-Jones (Year 9, Rutter House) who were awarded the Most Valuable Player Award for their respective divisions.
This year Volleyball Victoria held 9 Honours divisions, the premier level of competition in the state. Eltham High School won 3 of the 9 divisions. As there were over 35 schools competing, this is an incredible level of representation. Well done to all involved.
