Year 11 Legal Studies Court Visit

In week 1 and 2 of Term 3, all Year 11 Legal Studies students attended an excursion to the Magistrates and Supreme Court in Melbourne. Students were given talks by a Magistrate and a Supreme Court judge who outlined their experiences within the law, their day-to-day work, the challenges faced by the legal system and interesting cases that they have presided over.

Students also were able to observe cases occurring within the courts on that sitting day and had the opportunity to ask questions to the judge and court staff after wood. Overall, students found the excursion informative and interesting to apply their legal knowledge to the real operations of a courtroom.
