Religious Dimension

Lent
Lent is a time of change and growth as we prepare for Easter. Students have committed to being more rather than having more this Lent. Some of the actions include:
- I will be more kind, helpful and nice to others.
- I will be daring and make more friends
- I want to be more by helping others
- I want to be more respectful to my parents
- I want to be more generous
- I want to be more patient
- I want to be more by praying to God each day
Crazy Hair Day
Camp Quality is coming to our school on Tuesday 9 March. The Camp Quality Puppets – Kylie, Dean and Mel – visit primary schools, performing a fun, interactive show that dispels cancer myths and creates an inclusive community. The Primary School Education Program also offers access to a range of age-appropriate, downloadable resources for teachers and parents to keep the discussion going well after the puppets have left the stage.
In a show of support for Mrs Verona Gridley and everyone experiencing treatment for cancer, we would like to raise awareness and funds for cancer research, by asking all in the school community to wear crazy hair and bring a gold coin donation on Tuesday 9 March. Parents are welcome to come along to the puppet show also.
Junior Puppet Show 11.45am - 12.30pm
Middle/SEnior Puppet Show 12.45pm - 1.45pm
World Day of Prayer
The World Day of Prayer is a global ecumenical movement led by Christian women who welcome you to join in prayer and action for peace and justice. Through preparation and participation in the worship service, we can come to know how our sisters of other countries, languages and cultures understand the biblical passages in their context. We can hear their concerns and needs and can feel ourselves in solidarity with them as we pray with and for them. In this way, it is possible to enrich our Christian faith as it grows deeper and broader in an international, ecumenical expression. Trish Harkin is the St John's Parish contact for this event. Please contact her on 0438 684 244 if you would like to take part. The prayer service will be taking place this Friday 5 March at 10:00am at All Saints Church (opposite St John's). More information about the World Day of Prayer can be found at https://www.worlddayofprayeraustralia.org/
