2021 STEM Aboriginal Student Congress

This year, we had the opportunity to send 2 students to the STEM Aboriginal Student Congress for a 2-day event. Approximately 180 students from across South Australia, and 160 staff and presenters were in attendance over the 2-days.

The 2 students had the opportunity to hear for Indigenous professionals who are experts in a range of different STEM fields, and engage in a number of different workshops, located at both the Adelaide Convention Centre and off-sites at various universities and organisations.

Our students learnt about the science of light, had opportunities to make holograms with their devices, complete laser mazes, learn about archaeology, participate in a small archaeological dig site, explore Artificial Intelligence at the University of Adelaide's Australian Institute for Machine Learning (AIML), and robotics. Students also had the opportunity to learn about sustainable practices and traditional trading methods and journeys used by First Nations People.
