Principal's Report

Please care for our students on and around our roads...!

Parking on Dundas Street

Please be mindful of demonstrating exemplary road habits at the front of our school.

It is illegal to park along the thoroughfare side of the median strip in Dundas Street.  This creates a highly unsafe circumstance for both motorists and pedestrians to negotiate.  I also regularly witness cars being parked across private nature strips and driveways, of our wonderful neighbours.

Please consider your options, such as a huge parking space diagonally opposite Dundas Street east end and the new Clarke Street option from the north.

A great way to get steps up too, is to park further away, and enjoy a walk for the final few blocks!

Students on grounds before & after school

Please be reminded, students are not to enter our school grounds prior to 8:45am.  They are unsupervised and therefore unsafe.  We have Before School Care, for families who are unable to complete drop off after 8:45am.  Students enter and remain in their classrooms between their 8:45-9:00am arrival time to complete a readiness for learning period.

Students must also exit the school grounds at 3:20pm.  Parents / carers wishing to provide additional playground time to their child/ren, must remain with them to do so and you are most welcome.  Students who are not being supervised will be asked to make their way home.

Official Opening (re-run)

I am delighted to announce we are holding our Official Opening on Friday 29 April, which is the first Friday of Term Two!

The official part of the day will begin at 10am, with further details to be announced.

To celebrate the occasion, we look forward to hosting many of our community to witness students and staff demonstrating cross-age activities in a rotation style throughout the day, following the formalities.  In doing this, we will welcome our community into our new learning spaces and grounds across the site, to celebrate our wonderful new facilities.

We will look forward to seeing past students, past families, past staff and the broader community, along with our current school community to enjoy the festivities.

Our school council has already started planning and can now swing into full-planning mode, to ensure the day is memorable.

Please note, there will be no Open Day or Classrooms this term, due to the Official Opening now being our focus.

We can't wait to celebrate the event with you all!

Reporting Information Sessions for parents

Thank you to all families who attended any of the three information sessions, outlining our exciting new reporting format.

I hope you all enjoy reading your child's achievements contained within their Interim Report, later this term on Friday 1st April.

Student led conference booking (see below attachment for booking details) is available from today for either Tuesday 5th or Wednesday 6th April, between 3:40-7:00pm.

It is highly recommended, all families engage in the student led conferences.

Year 4 Camp to Queenscliff

I have thoroughly enjoyed some time with our Year 4 students at Wyuna Camp this week. Next week's newsletter and assembly will highlight some of the amazing experiences they all enjoyed.

I acknowledge the First Peoples of the Wathaurong, who are the traditional custodians of the land and waters on which I work and live, and pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
