BAS Tennis Singles Championships

In week 6, we had the BAS tennis singles championships. We had Milla Fraser in the senior girls Henderson Shield, Charlie Corbett in the senior McNeil Cup, Ethan Spiteri and Jake O’Rourke in the junior boys Rob Benoit Cup.

All but Milla were knocked out of the round robin matches on the Monday with Ethan being the next best result, ranked 3rd in his pool. On the Thursday, Milla got a walk over in the semi final due to the opponent not able to compete, therefore qualifying her for the final against her Loreto opponent.

Milla was in great from, going into the final only dropping 1 game in the round robin matches. Her form continued into the final, winning in straight sets. This was Milla’s 3rd Henderson Shield final win in a row and the 8th in a row by a Ballarat High School student.
