Welcome to the Ballarat High School Sports Corner where all the results for school events, School Sport Victoria (SSV) events, BAS After School events and highlighting significant external sporting achievements from present and past students can be found.

 

School Sport Victoria (SSV) Events

 

SSV GWR Senior Boys Cricket3rd Place

 

On Wednesday 8th March the Senior Boys cricket team competed in the SSV Greater Western Region Senior Boys Cricket competition at Victoria Park. The boys were always in the game but narrowly went down in both of their matches by 16 & 12 runs respectively. It also saw the return of Chris Maple to the school as the designated coach for the competition.

Students involved: Geordie Adam, Samuel Adam, Sam Baulch, Tom Burrows, Ryan Catherall, Oliver Geier, Nate Harwood, Mitchell Kinnersly, Eoghan Purser, Jake Roberts, Riley Wilson

SSV GWR Senior Girls CricketWinners! 

The Senior Girls cricket team were also ready to go in a one-off match against Emmanuel College. Unfortunately, Emmanuel had to withdraw its team, so BHS were declared the SSV Greater Western Region champions! The girls will progress to the SSV State Quarter Finals on Monday 20th March.

Students involved: Abigail Ashmore, Sabrina Goodie, Emity Howlett, Michaela Kern, Willow Manford, Aislinn McCarthy, Abbey Mudford, Imogen O’Brien, Elise Slade, Jessica Tumohe, Ava Wakeling

SSV GWR Intermediate Tennis3rd Place

On Wednesday 8th March both the Intermediate Boys and Girls Tennis teams competed in the SSV Greater Western Region Intermediate Tennis competition at the Ballarat Regional Tennis Centre. Both teams came up against some strong opponents in Horsham College & Trinity College, both teams finishing in 3rd place. All students had a wonderful day out.

Girls – Rachael Beer, Adrienne Harris, Erica Jones, Izabel Kaletsch, Annabelle McLennan

SSV Eureka Senior Boys & Girls VolleyballBoth Winners!

 

On Monday 6th March, senior students participated in the fiercely contested SSV Eureka Volleyball competition at Daylesford Secondary College. These students have shown commitment to the sport, practicing at lunchtimes to ensure their skills and tactics were at the highest standard. The girls won both matches and the boys were challenged in the grand final, but Mr Baker’s time out speech reset the boys and they came away with the win. Both teams will progress to the SSV Greater Western Region competition on Wednesday 3rd May at the Horsham Secondary College.

Boys – William Adams, Wil Barbary, Bailey Carroll, Brady Hodgetts, Harry Lee, Archie Maule, Chevy Smart.

Girls – Mia Darlow, Meg Drever, Jessica Gatacre, Michaela Kern, Mackenzie Marin, Polly Thompson, Eliza West, Meg West.
