Dunlop Reflection

As we have finally reached semester 2, I would love to acknowledge the outstanding achievements that our cluster of Dunlop has made, and how amazing our team spirit is! As year 11 leader of Dunlop 2018, I am extremely proud of all my fellow students for the courage, faith and commitment displayed throughout the year, and how these qualities have enabled us to not only grow stronger, but to achieve so many great things within our College community. After a double win in Cluster sports, Dunlop have proven to the College community that we are worthy beings of commitment and loyalty to our cluster patron; Edward Weary Dunlop.
As we continue another semester of success, I would love to congratulate all students participating in the UMAT Test (Undergraduate Medicine and Health Sciences Admission Test), on Wednesday July the 25th. We are all so proud of their achievements, and we wish them all the best for their future studies and success. As we all know, VCE is a rough journey of learning and effort, in which we should all be offering our absolute support to all our fellow peers for their excellent initiative.
Through a range of events at our school, extracurricular activities are taken place to display our College talent, including lunch time performances on the green, and our College Feast day, where our Talent Quest was held. Feast day was an amazing opportunity for students to show off their abilities and talents, and enable a community to come together and congratulate our students. Talent Quest was an amazing experience, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who is willing to participate, and give it their all!
As well as the events occurring within our community, The Catholic Education of Melbourne’s Performing Arts Gala; Time to Shine, is a phenomenal musical celebration that I, along with a few fellow students of CRC are honoured to be a part of. After our auditions in June 2017, we have been making our way over to rehearsals for a year, putting together a jaw dropping show that is being staged at the State Theatre, Arts centre of Melbourne, and will be aired on television on Saturday July the 28th. Two shows are being held throughout the day, the first commencing at 2.00pm and the last, at 7.30pm. We would really appreciate those who are interested to come along and enjoy a show that is well worth the money!
Lastly, thank you to everyone who has fulfilled my first semester at CRC Sydenham, looking forward to the completion of the year!
