Breaksea House

In what were unique times, Covid-19 threw a curve ball to everyone, particularly schools with boarding facilities! Generally, we managed very well, with social distancing being the most difficult, but we managed.

Due to Ms Bromhead being unwell (getting better each day), I was offered the opportunity of relief Head of Breaksea House. This was a new challenge for me (love a challenge) but a privilege. Thank you.

It was a great team effort by the girls, supervisors and cleaning staff. Many thanks to Mr Brendan Goggins and Miss Mikayla de Nobrega for their support. A huge thank you also to the girls in their lovely acknowledgment of me.

Enjoy a well-earned holiday break with your girls. I look forward to sharing time with them in Term Three.

Mrs Peta Spinks | Boarding Supervisor

Hello, Mikayla

I am a Gap Assistant from Cape Town South Africa, from a small Suburb called Noordhoek, which is the south western side of Cape Town. It’s a beautiful place with loads of horses and a beautiful beach.

I decided to take a gap year because I was unsure of what to study after my final year in school, I was stuck between studying Psychology, Hotel Management, Graphic Design and Market Managing. I hope that the time I spend here in Australia can help me make a decision.

I have been in Australia since January and I have enjoyed every part of this experience so far. I am looking forward to the many more wonderful memories I will make here in Australia. I’ve loved my time here in Australia so far. It’s been amazing getting to know the students that I supervise and staff that work alongside me.

Australia is a beautiful country with lovely people, I hope to travel more in the upcoming months and learn more about the culture and people of Australia.
