U14

St Andrew’s vs College Blue 6-279

A ‘team effort’ was delivered by our second U14 side, successfully batting their allotted overs to finish on 6-279. Runs were consistently and evenly spread throughout the side. Harry McDonald 50no, George Clarke 41, Sam Tonissen 37, Rupert Merrin & William Mackellar 16, Hugo Hedley 12.

Blue will look to continue this momentum as we aim to restrict St Andrew's to under this figure this coming Saturday.

College Gold 0-11 vs Grampians 9-184

A very even contest with Grampians starting strongly with the bat before College fought back in the middle stage of the morning to bowl Grampians out. Key players with the ball were: Tom Templeton 1-8 from 4 overs, Darcy Milne 2-15 from 5, Hugh Stratmann 1-15 from 4, Charlie Jarvis 1-3 from 3, Will Bourke 1-32 from 5 and Jude Alexander 2-12 from 4.

Gold then batted to finish the day on 0-11. They will be looking to follow Blue’s lead and even contributions throughout the side to chase down the target this coming Saturday.

Seniors

Another solid showing from our junior contingent in senior cricket at the weekend. Jack Austin continued his fine start to the season with another half-century. Henry Bensch contributed to an A grade win, with 1-14 from 4 overs. C grade was one fixture that was impacted by the weather with the match being abandoned. Harry Austin on 15no when the heavens opened.

D Grade was the match of the round with both sides finishing tied on 93 runs. George Huf removed the keeping gloves to be the pick of the bowlers with 3-29 and Jake Tonissen 2-18 combining to almost snatch victory from the jaws of defeat against Tarrington.
