Term 2 Update

New Build for a School of the Future

Western Port Secondary College is closing in on more exciting times, with our new build due for completion in October 2023. Our big project includes our new Wellness Centre, Senior School Hub, and Junior School Hub, which is purpose built to assist our year 7 students adjust to the transition to secondary school.

We have been eagerly watching the progress on the construction sites and are happy to report that we now have a roof on the Senior Hub plus the walls are being bricked up. We have started seeing rapid progress having spent months with demolition and getting foundations correct. The steel framing is complete on the Junior Hub and Wellness Centre with changes happening every day. Many of the windows face North and East so will be bathed in sunshine during the school day, with double height spaces so there is a light airy feel. 

At our weekly meetings onsite with the builders we are kept abreast of the process, and we are very pleased that the due date is still on track! We cannot wait to welcome our community in to visit our new buildings when we open, and sharing these modern, fit for purpose environments that will make every student feel welcome and included.
