ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES
If your child is sick or absent, you are required to notify the school as soon as possible on the day of absence.
*log the absence directly using your Compass login and password. This is our preferred method, however absences can be reported by calling the absence line by 8.30am - 9788 6290.
UNIFORM
Students may wear winter or summer uniforms for the first 2 weeks of term 4. It is important that they do not wear a hybrid. Students ARE NOT permitted to wear long sleeve garments under short sleeve dress or shirt.

STUDENT INSURANCE
Parents are reminded that the Department of Education and Mount Eliza Secondary College do not provide personal accident insurance for students.
Parents and guardians are responsible for the cost of medical treatment for injured students and transport costs including Ambulance transport in an emergency situation.
Student accident insurance policies are available for purchase through a number of insurance companies. Mount Eliza Secondary College is not in a position to recommend an insurance company as this is a personal choice depending on your circumstances.
Parents are also reminded that Department of Education and Mount Eliza Secondary College do not provide insurance for personal possessions of any description including motor vehicles, for damage or theft at the College or on the College grounds. If insurance coverage is required we recommend you contact your insurance provider for further information.

IMPORTANT DATES
Monday 3rd October is a professional Practice Day for our staff. There will be no classes running on this day. Should you require your student to be at school on this day, please email the college Principal, Danielle Vaughan. dvaughan@mesc.vic.edu.au
Cup Weekend
We have received queries from families around expectations of student attendance for the Monday before Cup Day. Traditionally at MESC, we have very low attendance on the Monday before Cup Day as families take the opportunity to have an extended break for family time. There will be lessons on COMPASS for students that will be absent. Year levels on this day are typically collapsed and an alternative program is developed for the students in attendance.
