Taking it to Court

Year 8 Interschool Sport Competition

Sally Goss

A fantastic group of Year 8 students went to MSAC for interschool basketball recently, turning their attention to the on-court action!

Due to Covid19 lockdowns, this was the first opportunity the team has had in three of years to see if they were able to match it with the other schools.

In the Girls A competition, the team had solid wins against both University High School and Princes Hill High School. They displayed excellent teamwork, great passing skills, and found space to drive into the goal -  resulting in many goals scored.

In the final, must-win game, the BSC team came up against Melbourne Girls College. Brunswick played their best game of the day and at half time they were leading by 7 points. Our players remained composed and focused in the second half of the game and came away the ultimate winners by 9 points. All team members played exceptionally well and were supportive of each other - and their sportsmanship and teamwork paid off.  The BSC team will now go on to the regional final on Wednesday 19th October.

Well done to Coco, Poppy, Amelie, Isla, India, Chantal and Tessa. You all did the school proud with your skills, effort, encouragement and teamwork throughout the day.
