Intermediate Soccer
Successful day for our Intermediate Boys and Girls as both of them progressed through the SSV Keilor Division Soccer competition.
The boys won their first 3 games convincingly and then beat Keilor Downs Secondary College in a penalty shoot-out in what was a tense final.
The girls were impressive all day drawing their first game 2-2 but then going on to win their next 3 to see them qualify for the next round.
We would like to congratulate all involved for their efforts today and look forward to seeing them compete at the Western Metro Round in Term 3.
Go Lakers!
Under 15 Girls Soccer
Our under 15 girls are through to the Bill Turner Trophy Victorian final. The girls put on a fantastic display on Friday 27th May against Springside West winning the match 15-0!
Many impressive performances across the game but it was clear the girls were the better team and deserved the positive result.
We wait to see who our opponents will be in the final which is scheduled to be played before the end of term 2.
Well done girls!
Futsal
More success of our Soccer Academy at the Melbourne School Futsal competition this week with the Under 13 boys and Under 16 girls both winning the title for their division this week. Both teams will now have a chance to compete in Brisbane later this year in the nationals.
Our under 14 boys and under 19 girls teams just missed out in winning their divisions.
Congratulations to all of our students. We are extremely proud of you!
A big congratulations to our Under 16 boys who won the Melbourne School Futsal titles on Monday May 16th at Monash University. The boys have now been invited to compete in Brisbane in September for the national titles. Well done.

Aussie Rules SSV Report
Last week saw Taylors Lakes students represent the school in the sport of Australian Rules Football.
The Year 7 boys and Junior Girls had a fantastic experience in their divisional final on Friday 27th May by being able to play in front of a ‘home crowd’ with both games held on the school oval. Despite not getting a favourable result, what an experience it would have been playing in front of hundreds of TLSC students cheering on the ‘Lakers’.
Although we played short across several of the teams, the effort and resilience shown by all players was a great representation of school spirit and a never give up attitude. The teachers and coaches who saw the students participate were impressed by our fair and relentless attack on the footy.
Our Intermediate Girls (with 15 players) and Intermediate Boys were successful in going through to the next round and will look to add a bit of silverware to the Aussie Rules section in the SSV trophy cabinet.

Netball
On the 6th May, the intermediate and senior students participated in the first round of School Sport Victoria’s netball tournament. All 3 Taylors Lakes Secondary College teams competed and won their preliminary rounds for the day, resulting in all teams playing the grand final in their divisions. Unfortunately, our intermediate and senior teams fell short in the grand final after a tough gritting game in each division. Despite losing the opportunity for regular training sessions due to the gym closure at Taylors Lakes, the netballers didn’t let this affect their teamwork and connections on court! Although, our teams didn’t make it through to the next round the athleticism and sportsmanship all Taylors Lakes students showed was beyond impressive. Students were fantastically behaved all day and represented Taylors Lakes Secondary College to the highest standard. A great effort by all involved, and a fantastic day out.
