Having a medical professional come in and talk a bit about his occupation was a great way to link our assessment to the real world. We were able to understand how he works as a Junior Doctor and relate it to our medical roles within the assessment. He answered any questions we provided with a thorough amount of detail whilst maintaining simplicity. It was a great opportunity for those wanting to learn more about medical fields or the work that goes into it through his medical journey.

During Science class we had the opportunity to interview Dr Arjun Nagpal to gather information for our interdisciplinary project. A week prior, we made up questions relating to Dr Nagpal’s profession, such as, “Would you like to continue being a doctor or do you have something else in mind for the future?” and “How did covid 19 affect your mental health?”. Dr Nagpal also included that becoming a doctor is a lengthy process.

On the 30th of May 2022, a junior intern doctor, Arjun Nagpal paid our class 8J a visit to explain his job and career. We asked him questions based on what we wanted to know about his daily life, journey to becoming a doctor and pros and cons etc. He described to us how he reached his position today and what a person needs to become a professional doctor. He also talked about his experience with covid and how that affected him and his work. This gave us a really good idea of why and how doctors must work extra hard during pandemics. This has aided with our own theoretical plague project, and we are grateful to him for sharing this with us.
