Libby, our Assistant Principal, left on Friday to begin her leave in preparation for the impending birth of her second child. The idea of course was to replenish and have a well deserved break before this joyous event occurred. However, her little one had other ideas.
On behalf of Libby, we introduce MATILDA ELIZABETH, the newest member of our Wollert Family. Matilda arrived early this morning, Monday 3rd April, on Libby's first official day of leave.
We take this opportunity to congratulate Libby and her family on the safe arrival of Matilda. Such an exciting family time that brings high level JOY to all. Libby will be sorely missed in her time away but will be returning in some form by the end of the school year.
Over the last few weeks we have had a number of staff illnesses and personal needs that occur in every workplace. Typically this impacts classes but not too greatly, as schools are able to engage Casual Relief Teachers (CRTs) to replace teachers and maintain a level of consistency in approach. A national and statewide teacher shortage increases the challenges we experience as a school but our commitment to ensure our students have solid learning environments remains. Sometimes we 'split' a class to enable this to occur. This means students receive the same instruction as their peers due to our Learning Community teachers sharing the learning of all students communally. Other times we employ CRTs who are immersed in the 'Wollert Way' of teaching, providing the students with the same intent. We acknowledge all of our consistent CRTs who have worked with us this term to ensure our students are provided consistent, quality instruction each day.
As we head into the school holidays you may wish to think about breaking up the days for your children by engaging in the our Team Kids Holiday Program. Aspa and the team will again be providing a fun holiday program that is filled with activities that are sure to excite our students as well as give some time back to the busy days of parents and carers.
If you are interested in exploring this further you can contact the team on the number provided or drop by to see Aspa before or after school this week.
We again remind our families that parking fines are being handed our for parking in the Kirrip Community Centre carpark and around our school in areas that perhaps are unsigned but are illegal to park in.
Unfortunately we as a school have no control in this or any influence in having parking fines reversed or overthrown. This remains a Whittlesea Council issue and we encourage families to make contact withthe council directly if deemed necessary.
