Alessia McCaig (10Je)

Congratulations to Alessia McCaig who competed at the Junior Track Nationals in Brisbane.

Alessia competed in 5 events in U17W and won 4 gold medals (Sprint, team sprint, 5km Scratch Race & Keirin) & one bronze (500m Time Trial).

She also broke two National Records, the first in the Flying 200m with a time of 11.683. (Record was 11.823 held since 2014). Alessia then went on to race 9 races to take the Gold medal was the highlight of the week.

She also broke the 500m Team Sprint Record in qualifying with her team mate Lucie Stewart with a time of 35.80 (Record was 36.244 held since 2010). They then went into the Gold Medal ride off and broke their just set record in a time of 35.554!

In the last two years as a junior in U17W she has collected 8 National Medals, 2 Silver, 1 Bronze & 2 National Records.
