Masks (Repeat)

From Monday 27 June secondary students, staff and visitors are no longer required to wear masks at school. Should anyone wish to continue wearing a mask, you are more than welcome to do so.

Home Stay Families Required (Repeat)

We have recently received a request for the opportunity to host 4 or 5 Japanese High School students from Ark Foreign Languages Academy in Hiroshima Japan to spend approximately 3 weeks assisting here at Southern Christian College.

These students, two 17 year old boys and two 16 year old girls, and possibly another 17 year old girl, will be arriving in Australia on August 1st and departing August 21st. Arrival date in Tasmania to be confirmed upon confirmation of willing families to host their home stay.

This is a terrific opportunity if your child is studying Japanese here at Southern Christian College to host one of the students, to make new friends, practice their language skills and learn first-hand about modern Japanese Culture. Importantly to note that all the students speak English.

If you happen to have a spare room in your house. and are keen to host one or even two of the students for the duration please contact either myself (tracy.brandis-gray@scc.tas.edu.au) or Robyn Stromsoe (robyn.stromsoe@scc.tas.edu.au) to register your interest. You don’t have to be studying Japanese to host the students either, if your child is keen on learning new things about other cultures, please also express your interest.

Further details will be available once we have confirmation of homestay for all the students.
