Dream Island Models by Amie

We designed our dream island because we wanted to explore different ways to live sustainably. Mrs Meany said that when we designed our islands we could draw it, paint it, or make a model of it. I did a dragon island called Winged Island. I based it off my favourite book series called Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland. We had to include all the things we needed to survive. For my map I put in a mountain with fresh water flowing down into a lake and a hunting island that the dragons can fly to, a school in one of the caves in the mountains, a meeting grounds for emergencies, castles for the tribe queens and villages for the tribe dragons and meadows for the dragons to play in.

We made Dream Islands because we wanted to find ways to live sustainable on an island. Our teacher said we could draw it, paint it, make a model, or make paper maches.  We could include whatever we wanted to, as long as it had things we need to survive, like food and water. I decided to paint the ocean but draw the island. My island had beaches, mountains and waterfalls. I decided to add some fruit trees and animals so I could eat, and a fresh lake to drink from. I also added lots of trees so I could breathe more easily, and I drew small huts for shelter so other people can live there too. There was also a dock so people could come and go. I liked making my dream island because it made me realise what little we need to survive and how much we waste each year.
