eBooks & New Books

Perfect timing – the library has a trial period of AUDIO books via our eLibrary – and it’s school holidays - are you making the connection?  Listen to the story!  Download an audio book onto your ipod or phone and enjoy.  Tell the librarians what you think in Term 4.

As well, we have purchased lots of books in time for holiday reading.  Every book on display in the library is new.  Included are replacement series such as Lemony Snicket, Harry Potter and Skulduggery Pleasant – the old books were quite literally, read to death!

The girl who fell by Violet Grace. This is book 1 in the Chess Raven Chronicles.  I am an orphan, a hacker.  I grew up with nothing and no one. But it turns out my whole life has been a lie.  Suddenly, I’m a hero, a villain, a weapon and the last great hope. I am not the girl who fell.  I am the one who got back up.  I am Chess Raven.

Little Monsters by Kara Thomas.  Kacey is the new girl in Broken Falls.  She has moved with her father into a blended family, a stepbrother, stepmother, and an adoring younger half sister.  Her new life is charming beyond belief compared to the volatile life she had with her mother.  Everyone is so nice, so welcoming, so inclusive in Broken Falls.  It’s strange when her new friends do not invite her to the party of the year, she feels snubbed and she can never know why she was not invited as her friend Bailey never makes it home from that party. Broken Falls does not seem so friendly after all – especially when people start looking to her for answers.

The Bogan Mondrian by Steven Herrick. One of our favourite authors states “there are worse things than school” and he’s right.  Luke sleepwalks through his days wagging school, swimming at the reservoir and eating takeaway pizza. That is until Charlotte shows up. Rumour is she got expelled from her city school and her family moved to the Blue Mountains for a fresh start. But when Luke's invited to her house, he discovers there's a lot more going on than meets the eye You’ll have to read this book to find out what happens!  (Google book review accessed 17/9/18)

Inheritance. Another great book by Carole Wilkinson. Nic cares for her grandfather at the remote family property. It has thirty rooms, three dogs and no mobile reception.  Left alone for a lot of the time, Nic searches for clues about her mother who died the day Nic was born.  She discovers the past holds a dark and shocking secret that haunts the land and the people who live there.
