With Metropolitan Melbourne reaching our vaccination targets earlier than expected, the additional category of children whose parents are both vaccinated, will be able to attend ECEC from Friday 22 October. This means from 22 October until 4 November there are four categories of children allowed to attend kindergarten;

  • vulnerable children
  • children who reside with single parents who are working
  • children whose parent is an authorised worker and there is no alternate care in the house
  • children whose parents (both unless single parents) are vaccinated.

The Department of Education and Training is seeking advice from the Department of Health regarding what proof of vaccination is required.

 

We are very much looking forward to having our classes back together to reconnect and to begin the transition to either four year old kindergarten or to prep.

 

Covid continues to challenge us as a community here in Melbourne. Our Covid safe plans of course are still in place and kinder continues to operate with all mitigation strategies in practice. 

 

For all children attending onsite it is vitally important that families are vigilant about keeping unwell children at home. We are including the below information provided by the school...

 

With the return to on-site learning it is extremely important students do not attend school when sick.  Please open the below attachment which explains the protocols for managing illness in Victorian Government schools at this time. Parents or carers of students who are deemed unwell at school will be contacted and asked to collect their child/ren as soon as possible. If you can not collect your child within a reasonable time (within an hour), please arrange for someone you trust to collect them on your behalf and let the School know. Parents may need to put a plan in place in case this scenario arises.
