Extended Care Program

Hi Extended Care Program families,
We are very excited to be welcoming more children back onsite soon.
With the days getting warmer and sunnier, our children onsite and at home have been enjoying outdoor activities so much.
There are plenty of opportunities for fun in our outdoor environment, children run, play and learn. Searching for tiny creatures and insects, under rocks and logs, in the garden and under the soil as they set to work in our digging patch.
Working together to roll the heavy rocks to find more creatures, talking about why some insects need to live in moist areas, what they eat, and which one is their mum and dad. Collecting colourful flowers and green leaves are one of their interests, too. Making their collection of spring.
The mud area is also popular for children. Children explore all sort of thing with mud, water, texture, measuring volume and depth, creative themes such as fossil searching, volcano eruptions, cooking for birthday parties and so on.
Water is more accessible in this warmer weather. They explore the properties of water while pouring, carrying water in different containers, mixing with other resources, and using water pumps.
There are many benefits to children playing outside. Outside, children can release energy, use loud voices, play vigorously, and engage in messy projects. Children learn so much through messy play outside. This helps their social learning and supports their cognitive development.
Please make sure to always pack spare clothes with their name labelled!
