CBCA_VIC – Children’s Book Council of Australia / Victorian Branch on Instagram:

Over the next few weeks, CBCA VIC Branch will be sharing a number of children's and young adult books written by local authors that can help nourish our minds in lockdown and promote good mental health.

Many Victorians are doing it tough right now, and we hope these suggestions are useful when it comes to selecting joyful and relatable books for young people that are going through a hard time.

Our first suggestion comes from committee member Marissa, and it is... Mim and the Baffling Bully (The Travelling Bookshop Book 1) by Katrina Nannestad and Cheryl Orsini, published by ABC Books/HarperCollins.

A book about finding the perfect book, the one that can change your life. Perfect for primary aged readers.

Katrina Nannestad says, “Books are powerful, books take us to other worlds, they can help us escape our own world, they show us what’s possible, they help us to dream and imagine and become something different."
