Horsemanship

Congratulations to Airlie Bowes and Zara Smith who competed on the weekend at the Warrnambool Pony Club Combined Training Day. Airlie Bowes placed 2nd in Grade 3 and Zara Smith, who rode two horses in this event, placed 1st in Grade 1 and 1st in the open Grade 3.

On the 12th of March, Laura Michelmore is flying to New Zealand, to compete in two polocrosse test matches against New Zealand. Laura will fly over with an under 16 Victorian state team. The tournament will be held in Otorohanga New Zealanda on the 14th and 15th of March 2020. New Zealand will supply horses for the team to ride. The team will be managed by National Coaches Kim Tempelton and Kristy Cooper. We wish Laura well and look forward to hearing all about this amazing opportunity!

Zoe and Jack Addinsall competed in the Victorian Modern Pentathlon Championships in Melbourne on the weekend. They both had a successful weekend both winning the Pentathlon.  Zoe also won the Tetrathlon in under 12s and Jack came 3rd in under 17. Zoe was awarded the equal fastest run time for the Tetrathlon and the fastest laser shoot and run in the pentathlon. This is against all of the competitors in each age group. Zoe went into the final state of the laser run with a 24 second time penalty, meaning she had to catch up this time with a laser shoot every 400 mtrs. On the last lap she shot 5 clean shoots bringing  her up to the lead. She put in a very fast last lap finishing 8 seconds faster that her opposition. A very exciting finish.
