Music & Japanese @ MCS

With Mrs Laura Logan

Japanese

Year 7 students have continued to enjoy their first steps into Japanese, learning how to describe their nationality and where they live. Year 7 students also had the opportunity to experience Japanese Taiko drumming recently, with a visit from Tyke-Oh drumming. Students enjoyed the experience of learning new drumming techniques from an experience Taiko teacher, while trying out some of their newly learned Japanese.

Sydney Youth Orchestra Visit

The Sydney Youth Orchestra was gracious to visit Molong Central School on their recent tour of the local area. Year 7 and 8 students were lucky enough to experience the performance, listening to a variety of classical and contemporary works, while learning a little more about how a chamber orchestra was used in the past. For many students, this was their first experience of a live chamber orchestra. Thank you to Sydney Youth Orchestra for visiting! We look forward to hosting you again in the future.

Rotary Scholarship

Grace Parry has been fortunate to receive funding from Molong Rotary Club to support her voice lessons at the Orange Regional Conservatorium. Grace has a beautiful voice and it is excellent to see it developed under the guidance of teachers at the ORC. Molong Central School and Grace would like to recognise and appreciate the support given by Molong Rotary Club. Grace looks forward to giving back to the community through her continued performances.
