Student Leadership

I would like to begin by thanking our 2022 Campus Captains for their contribution to the College over the 2022 school yearly have they performed their duties in the best way possible they have been an excellent source of advice for us as to how we have best been able to support our students. To Lydia, Jimmy, Michelle and Sithisak thank you and it was very pleasing to recognise your contribution of Graduation Night.

Thank you to our 20 22 Campus Captains
Thank you to our 20 22 Campus Captains

I would also like to congratulate our Campus Captains for 2023 on their appointment.

At Banksia we have Alex Sokkhen and Nakeisha Mangoba and at Acacia we have Arthur Hingley and Meychea Sen. I am very much looking forward to working with them next year as they represent all our students next year. The importance of an effective student leadership team cannot be exaggerated as student agency significantly increases student engagement throughout the teaching and learning process as it increases student motivation. We know that with increased motivation students can feel confident and capable of making changes to their learning environment.

Year 7-11 Presentation Evening

On Tuesday 22nd November we will be holding our Year 7 – 11 Presentation Events to recognise the achievements of our Year 7 – 11 students in 2022. We will once again be holding it at the Drum Theatre in Dandenong. Once again it is so pleasing to be able to have these celebrations again.

I would like to congratulate the following staff members on their appointments to leadership positions within Keysborough College.

Leading Teachers:

  • Melissa Hoskin: Year 7 TTL and Transitions
  • Keenan Synnott: Teacher Team Leader
  • Alison Parkes: Teacher Team Leader

  • Jessica Yuong: Head of Mathematics

I would also like to congratulate the following staff members on their appointments to leadership positions at other schools:

You may well have seen in the media reports of a teacher shortage across Australia (in fact the whole world) and there are concerns that schools may start 2023 without enough teachers. I am pleased to let you know that we are on track to employ the teachers we need and I expect to start 2023 fully staffed.

Building project

I am pleased to report that genuine progress has been made. Contracts have been signed, fences erected, site buildings are in place and asbestos removal has taken place. Demolition of the building at the Banksia campus is about to commence.
