HRIS Swimming
Calrossy Junior School Swim Team took home 3rd place in their division of the Hunter Region Independent Schools Swimming Championship. Congratulations to Olivier Pearson, Georgina Pearson, and Eddie O’Shea for winning Age Champion for their age group. We thank Mrs Mooney, Mr Gatenby, and Mrs Smith for their time away with the team.
The Secondary Swim team will depart on Thursday for Maitland Pool to compete in the HRIS Secondary Swimming Championships.
Douglas Shield Cricket
Our Douglas Shield Cricket campaign came to an end last week. Calrossy First XI batted first on a tough pitch but made a strong start against a quality bowling attack. The opposition from Lindisfarne Anglican capitalised on the conditions and took quick wickets to dismiss the team cheaply. As the pitch dried out, Lindisfarne were able to take full advantage and run away with the game. Many thanks to Mr Ryan Whitton and Rev Mark Rundle for accompanying the team, and Mrs Jackie Holmes for her ongoing commitment to the team.
Calrossy Mountain Biking Student
Year 9 student and Mountain Biker, Rebecca Sams, recently took out first place at the Fox Super Flow gravity enduro race held at Stromlo.
Rebecca is a regular across a range of mountain biking disciplines, but her favourite are the fast-flowing downhill events. Congratulations to Rebecca on her great results in the series so far and we look forward to seeing her progress across the Fox Super Flow Series.
Basketball
Calrossy Primary Secondary Basketball returned last week at the Sports Dome. Calrossy has entered its largest number of teams ever, including the return of a Year 3/4 Team.
