Sun Room

Hi Sun Room Families
We cannot believe it is almost Christmas. This year has just flown by but we are all loved every minute of it with you guys. We have had a busy term with an incursion, library visit, a few special events and we have finished it all with everything to do with Christmas!!
We have welcomed Raylee, Bhumi and Ava into Sun Room this term and we are loving getting to know our new friends.
Term 4 Incursions
Balegrow 18/10/22
We had the wonderful Tracey from Balegrow come out and talk to us about sustainability, recycling and gardening. We learnt how we can grow plants out of recycled bottles, that plants need 3 things water, food and sun to grow and we even got to plant out very own vegetables and plants into hay bales that are now apart of our Sun Room yard. This has been a fantastic was to get the children interested in the garden and how to teach them to respect it by not touching and watering it everyday. We have actually grown some little carrots that we pulled out this week (19/12/22), gave them wash and had them as a
snack.
Library Visit (17/11/22)
We had the lovely Michelle from Rowville Library come out and visit us again. The children love when she comes out to visit and is in absolute awe the whole time. Michelle is very good at getting them involved in the stories and they all listen so well.
Term 4 Special Dates
Space Week (4-10 October 2022)
Lesley and Caitlyn with the help of the children made a huge rocket out of cardboard, decorated in foil and stickers. We then added a table with a computer on it into the rocket ship the children loved playing with it. Ann-Maree set up a space interest table with a spaceship and a sensory tub which the children also loved interacting with. The children also got the opportunity to create a beautiful painting with Danni using star cookie cutters to stamp with.
Halloween (31/11/22)
We loved seeing all the Children dress up in their fantastic costumes for Halloween. We also got to interact and explore a great sensory tub filled with skeletons, spiders and cauldrons that Caitlyn made for the children. We also made skeletons with the children's faces on them and witches with Charlotte.
Remembrance day (11/11/22)
Charlotte and the children made a beautiful art piece of poppies together using sponges and paint.
Diwali (12/11/22)
We acknowledge Diwali in the room with a colourful sensory tub set up by Nicole with electric tea lights candles, the children loved interacting with this experience and would always pretend they were lighting the little candles with the big ones.
We also celebrated Diwali as a whole centre. All the children and educators come out into the carpark and decorated big white sheets using spray bottles and paints. This was a great whole centre project.
Grandparents Day Morning Tea (28/10/22)
Thank-you to all the special people that came and joined us for this morning tea. It was a lovely time.
