Centre Director

As we edge closer to the end of 2022, we would like to wish all Haven families, children, team members and our wider community a very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!

We at Haven Early Learning are forever grateful for the support, love and kindness expressed at our service this year and could not be more appreciative of the community around us. Working in the early childhood education and sector is a privilege that comes with huge amounts of trust and belief from families that we will provide the highest quality education to children and always nurture, protect and care for everyone at Haven. So with all of this in mind we say a massive thankyou to each and every person that has directly and indirectly been involved in Haven in 2022.

This time of the year is so special as we can acknowledge the learning and development of all children, which will be highlighted in each rooms individual page. We cant wait to see children transition up into the next rooms from the beginning of Jan and be apart of their continued learning journeys. Our River Room have seen their little babies progress from crawling, walking and talking, with our Sun Room children developing and showcasing their individual personalities. Our Forest Room children have built their independence skills, always ready to learn and finally, our Field room children have grown into confident and capable learners ready to take on their next challenge of primary school.

As a team we reflect on what we have achieved in 2022 and can only be proud of our all accomplishments.

We will forever remember Claire and her spark, passion and love for early education alongside us and everyone at Haven. She has continued to inspire us to be kind, to be caring and to always challenge and believe in ourselves.

We have seen all of our rooms with high occupancy and have continued to bring in new enrolments across the year, which is thanks to all the recommendations and support for Haven as a quality childcare service.

We have a consistent team of staff members with a very low staff turnover and have been able to adapt our leadership teams, roles and responsibilities to continue to evolve our service needs.

Further, we have continued to enhance our educational programs and learning environments for the children and families with some highlights including:

  • Excursions out of the service to Arcadia Reserve, Rowville Primary School, Rowville Library & Post Office, Stud Park, Wellington Village and Lego Land
  • Incursions including Rowville CFA, Police, Paul Sadler, The Lizard Wizard, DreamTime Puppets, Melbourne Museum, Road Safety, Reptile Encounters, BaleGrow, alongside visits from our Families to read stories, cook with children, undertake science experiments and play the ukulele.
  • Centre events such as National Kindness Day, Special Person Days (Mothers, Fathers, Grandparents), Photo Week, Book Fair, Haven Christmas Party, 4-Year-Old Kindergarten Graduation and donations to Gayle Community Share Space.
  • While also celebrating community events such as NAIDOC Week, Simultaneous Storytime, Pyjama Day, Easter, Anzac Day, Remembrance Day, Harmony Day, National Recycling Week, Science Week and Christmas.

One of our biggest accomplishments of 2022 was undertaking assessment and rating and receiving an overall rating of EXCEEDING THE NATIONAL QUALITY STANDARDS.

This is something we will always be able to be proud of and continue to reflect everyday at Haven Early Learning.

I look forward to seeing what 2023 brings for all of our current Haven Families and am excited to welcome many new children and families into our Haven community.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone, thankyou all for 2022

From Bronwyn
