Announcement-Postponement of 2023 Kindergarten Open Morning
Our 2023 Kindergarten Open Morning was meant to be on today but due to unforeseen circumstances, we had no choice but to postpone this event. Our Open Morning will now be taking place on Thursday 21st July (Week 1, Term 3). I do apologise for any inconveniences that this may have caused.
Industrial Action-Thursday 30th June
You may have been aware that earlier this week, there was an announcement that both the public and Catholic school staff members will be taking industrial action together over a dispute about pay and staff shortages. This will be taking place on Thursday 30th June. I can let you know that St Patrick's will be open on this day, however, we will be able to offer minimal supervision to students, due to the impact of this action.
Semester 1 Reports
Reports will be sent home electronically via the Compass parent portal, tomorrow, Friday 24th June. If you would like a paper copy of your child's report, can you please let us know and we will send it home early next week. If parents have any questions and/or would like to have a meeting with their child's class teacher, they can contact them to arrange a suitable time to meet or discuss any matters in regards to their child's learning during Week 10.

Payment of the 2nd instalment of school fees are due 30th June. Thank you to families who have paid their fees. Please email Mrs Karen Rizzi (School Financial Officer) if your fees will not be up to date by the 30th June.
Parents & Friends are welcome to join with the whole school for Mass tomorrow Friday 24th at 11:30am, in St Patrick's Church.
ATHLETICS CARNIVAL Wednesday 29th June See you all there!
Thank you to the families who are assisting on Wednesday with the carnival.
The long range weather forecast for Wednesday is sunny with a top temperature of 12 degrees.

As the carnival is on Wednesday, there is a swap of uniform on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Instead of wearing their sports uniform on Tuesday, the students will be required to wear their normal winter school uniform and wear their sports uniform at our Athletics Carnival.
Year 5 STEP Day at O'Connor
Today some of our Year 5 students went to O'Connor High School in Armidale for their first STEP Day for 2022. This day is designed to show the students what their secondary education will be like at O'Connor if they decide to enrol there for the 2024 school year. Thanks to Mrs Davey who supervised the students at this event. I hope all of of the students who went had an enjoyable day.
NAIDOC Week 3 July -10 July
The NAIDOC 2022 theme – Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! – calls for all of us to to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.
NAIDOC Week will be held from Sunday 3 July to Sunday 10 July, though at school we will hold activities during Week 1 Term 3.
TERM 3 PUPIL FREE DAY
On the first day of Term (Monday 18th July), there will be a Pupil Free Day. Students will return back to school on Tuesday 19th July. I do apologise for any inconveniences that this may cause.
Real Talk Parent Information Sessions
As mentioned before, our Years 4 and 6 participated in the Real Talk program with students from St Joseph's Primary, Uralla recently. Real Talk is all about getting realon the topics of relationships and personal identity. Based on Christian values and using personal sharing from a team of dynamic presenters, Real Talk provides presentations, programs and up-to-date resources and want all young people to know their true value, worth and dignity and to experience love for all it was created to be.
This year the Real Talk team will also be providing a Parent Night Sessions via Zoom with the next session on Tuesday 28th July at 7.30pm. More information is included in the flyer below.
Upcoming Event Term 3 - New England Sings 2022 Term 3 for Years 3-6
NEW ENGLAND SINGS! 2022 COMBINED PRIMARY CHOIRS REHEARSAL SCHEDULE Armidale and surrounding schools – outreach schools will have rehearsals scheduled at their own school. However, outreach schools are welcome to attend the Armidale workshops if possible.
This exciting event is beginning to take shape, 16 schools (with approx. 500 choristers) in the combined Primary choirs and 14 schools (with approx. 450 choristers) in the Secondary choir.
The 2022 project will include:
The commissioning of two works from wonderful Australian composers – Justine Clarke for the Primary choir and Luke Byrne for the Secondary choir.
Paul Jarman will be attending workshops throughout the year and will conduct the Primary choirs at the final weekend of rehearsals and concerts.

St Patrick’s School is an outreach school for the rehearsals but we will attempt to attend two of the rehearsals in Armidale.
Parents will have to commit to the Saturday 22nd October - Final Rehearsal and Sunday 23rd October Concert. If they wish their child to participate in New England Sings.
