The Importance of Team Planning
Langwarrin Park Primary School teachers recently came together in their year level teams as a Professional Learning Community (PLC) to collaboratively plan for the upcoming term. This important work usually takes place during Week 9 each term, with each year level provided a dedicated day to plan together. This allows teachers to align curriculum goals, share ideas, and design engaging, high-quality learning experiences.
While teachers were planning, students participated in a full day of specialist sessions, ensuring they continued to enjoy a rich, varied, and engaging program.
This focused planning time enables teachers to ensure consistency across classes and develop lessons that are well-structured and responsive to student needs. By analysing student data and working collaboratively, teachers can better target their teaching to support every learner.
As a result, in the following term, students benefit from engaging and well-planned lessons, clear learning intentions, and teaching that is tailored to help them succeed. This collaborative approach supports a positive and effective learning environment for all students.
