As we come towards the end of the term, it has been wonderful to see the positive ways our students have continued to demonstrate our school values and support one another. Throughout the term, we have focused on strengthening whole-school routines that help create a calm and predictable learning environment. When students line up on time, it helps them develop important life skills such as developing self-discipline, teamwork, responsibility and an understanding of the value of time, which are essential life skills. It also supports students to be ready for learning and respectful of others as they move around the school.

Our student leaders have also been actively involved in promoting wellbeing across the school, supporting and promoting whole school events. It has also been pleasing to see students showing kindness, including others in play, and looking after one another. One of the highlights of the term was a group of our Year 2 students who took the initiative to care for our environment by helping keep the school grounds clean. Their actions quickly inspired other students to join in, which was wonderful to see.

As we head into the Easter break next week, we thank our families for their continued support in working alongside the school to promote positive behaviour, respect and wellbeing for all students. We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday and look forward to seeing everyone return in Term 2.

Every Day Counts!

At LPPS, coming to school every day really matters! Being at school helps children learn, make friends, and feel part of our community.

Did You Know?

  • Missing 1 day every fortnight = 4 weeks of lost learning in a year.
  • Every absence affects learning and wellbeing.
  • Regular attendance helps children build skills like teamwork, communication, and resilience.

Tips for Families

  • Talk positively about school and encourage daily attendance.
  • Let us know early if your child will be away open communication helps us support them.
  • Plan appointments and holidays outside school hours.
  • Reach out to your child’s teacher or wellbeing team for support.

Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader: Jen Parkes

Hello families,

I’m excited to introduce myself as your school’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader as part of the Mental Health in Primary Schools Initiative. My role is to support the wellbeing of all students by promoting positive mental health, building strong connections, and helping every child feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

At the moment, a key focus of my work is supporting students to attend school regularly and develop a strong sense of belonging within our school community. I work closely with staff, students, and families to provide guidance, support, and access to helpful resources when needed.

You’ll also see me running our Lego and Colouring Lunchtime Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These are great opportunities for students to relax, connect, and have fun together.

I’m really looking forward to getting to know more of our families and community members. Please feel free to reach out at any time.

Warmly,

Jen
