Working Bee

By Adam Keens

Team Parkhill: Working Bee Sunday 23 August đŸ’Ș✹

Grab your hats and gardening gloves, Parkhill community! It’s time to come together, refresh our beautiful school grounds, and have a bit of fun while doing it.

Buildings and Grounds are hosting our next School Working Bee, and we would love to see you there. Whether you can stay for the whole session or just spare half an hour, every single bit of help makes a massive difference for our kids.

The Details:

  • When: Sunday 23 August
  • Time: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Come for as long or as little as you can!)
  • Where: Meet near the main office courtyard

What We’re Tackling:

We’ve got a great mix of outdoor and indoor jobs lined up to spruce up the campus:

  • Brand New Garden Beds! đŸŒ± We are incredibly excited to be partnering with the Community Garden to build some beautiful new garden beds for our students to enjoy and learn from.
  • Mulching: Refreshing our garden beds to keep them healthy and green.
  • Sand Pit Refill: Topping up the sand pits so they are ready for epic recess and lunchtime creations.
  • Indoor Painting: Giving some of our indoor spaces a fresh, bright new look.

What to Bring:

To ensure everyone stays safe and productive, please remember to pack:

  • 👒 A sun-safe hat
  • 💧 A refillable water bottle
  • đŸ’Ș Gardening equipment (shovels, wheelbarrows, rakes, and gardening gloves are highly recommended!)

Food & Refreshments ☕🍰

You definitely won't go hungry! A delicious morning tea will be provided to keep our energy levels up. It’s a fantastic opportunity to sit down, grab a cuppa, and catch up with other Parkhill families.

A note on community spirit: You don't need to be a DIY expert to attend. There is a job for everyone, no matter your skill level or age. Even if you can only drop by for 30 minutes to help shovel some sand or paint a wall, your support is incredibly appreciated.

We can’t wait to see you all there on Sunday 23 August to help make Parkhill Primary shine!
