Year 9 Camp

There are still limited spaces available for students keen to attend the Year 9 Camp to Melbourne CBD between 19th-21st August. The focus on the camp is FUN, life skills, and new experiences. If you have any questions about camp speak to Ms Gardner or anyone from the year 9 team and they will be able to assist you.

Year 9 Achievements

We would like to congratulate Vedah Kumar who participated in the legacy public speaking competition. Not only did she excel, but she came out with runners up. This is a fantastic achievement, one to be proud of. Well done Vedah!

Intermediate netballers Ruby Bethune and Gretel Blake will be off to school state netball in a couple of weeks. They will compete against some of the states best netballers. We wish them good luck and cannot wait to see how they go.

Ryder Thomas has recently had a very successful week playing for Victoria in the National Netball championships. He came away with an MVP award and a gold medal from the competition! Big congratulations Ryder, we are excited to see what is next for you in the netball world.

Subject selections

During week 3, staff worked with students and their families to help pick subjects for 2027. Any student who did not attend these meetings are still required to complete a subject selection form. The year 9 coordinators will be following up with the students this week to ensure these get done.

If you have any questions about subject selections, please contact the year 9 team.

Year 9 Form Group Teachers are responsible for the pastoral care of our students. Part of this role includes following up student absences. If your child has been absent, their form group teacher will be in contact via phone or SEQTA direct message to resolve the absence. We aim for 0% unresolved absences each term! It is a great help to form group teachers if families can notify the college of absences via the absence hotline on 5381 7200 or via the QKR! App. Thank you for your help in assisting us to achieve 0% unresolved absences in Year 9.

Year 9 Art – Sketchy As

Our Year 9 students have been getting creative in Sketchy As! They have explored the work of renowned portrait artist Chuck Close and his distinctive use of the grid method. Students have applied this technique to create their own portraits, producing some truly beautiful and impressive pieces.
