Year 7 News
Term 3 is now in full swing, with students working hard to complete learning tasks and assessments. We remind students to focus on doing the basics well to give themselves the best possible chance of success.These basics include:
Arriving on time and being prepared for class
Using their diary when leaving the classroom
Being respectful and kind learners in all settings
Subject Selection
Last week, students attended Subject Selection Day this was an exciting opportunity to reflect on the subjects they’ve enjoyed this year and to consider what they might like to study next year.
If your student missed subject selection day, can you please encourage them to bring their completed forms back to the Year 7 office as soon as possible.
School Values
Our Year 7 students have demonstrated our school values of Care and Character by welcoming visiting Year 6 classes to the school. These visits took place on the 30th July, 3rd August and 6th August.
Thank you to all parents and carers who kept their Year 7 child home on their allocated day to allow us to welcome our future students.
School Production
Many of our Year 7 students are involved in this year’s school production, “Frozen: The Musical.” The production will run from Thursday 20th to Saturday 22nd August 2026 at Horsham Town Hall.
We wish all the performers and backstage crew the very best as they prepare to entertain the school and wider community.
Uniform
As the cooler weather continues, it’s important that students are dressed in warm, school-appropriate clothing.If your child is out of uniform for any reason, please provide a note and send it with your child to the Year 7 office. A uniform pass will be issued for the day.
Swimming
This term, Year 7 students will participate in a swimming unit during their PE lessons. Please ensure that permission forms are returned so students can attend.All swimming levels are supported in the program, both in and out of the pool. If you have any concerns or questions, please speak with your child’s PE teacher.
Class Spotlight – Year 7 Humanities
In Humanities students have been learning about Ancient Egypt. As part of their assessment for the unit, students were tasked with creating an artifact to display and share in class.
