Year 9 & 10 Newsletter Report

Year 9

Year 9 students have recently completed their first semester examinations in English and Mathematics. This has been an important milestone, providing students with the opportunity to demonstrate their learning and develop valuable examination skills. We congratulate students on their efforts and encourage them to reflect on their performance, celebrate their achievements, and identify areas for continued growth.

As we move towards Semester 2, students will be encouraged to set new academic and personal goals. Establishing clear goals will help students remain focused, motivated, and engaged in their learning. We look forward to supporting our Year 9 students as they continue to build confidence, resilience, and success throughout the remainder of the year.

Year 10

Year 10 students have recently completed their Semester 1 examinations in Humanities, Mathematics, Science, and English. We commend students for their preparation and commitment during this busy assessment period. These examinations provide valuable experience as students continue to develop the study habits and assessment skills that will support them in their senior years.

Attention is now turning to Work Experience, which will take place during the final week of term. Students are currently preparing for their placements and are encouraged to approach this opportunity with enthusiasm and professionalism. Work Experience offers valuable insight into the workplace, helping students develop employability skills and explore potential career pathways.

Looking ahead to next term, Year 10 students will begin the subject selection process for their senior studies. The KLA Expo and subject counselling sessions will provide important opportunities for students and families to learn about available pathways and make informed decisions about future study options. We encourage all students to engage actively in this process as they begin planning for their next stage of learning.

Congratulations to the Year 9 and 10 Cohort

We also recognise the outstanding contribution of Year 9 and 10 students who have represented Lalor Secondary College in extracurricular activities throughout the semester. Whether participating in sporting competitions, leadership programs, cultural events, performances, or community initiatives, these students have demonstrated pride, teamwork, and dedication while serving as positive ambassadors for our school. Their involvement enriches the school community and highlights the many talents of our Year 9 and 10 cohort.

The Student Support team are very proud of you.
