Kindergarten
Kindy have started off the year looking at Living and Non-living things in Science with Mr McLean. Students went on a walk around the school to identify living and non-living things and took photos using iPads. This is the world through the eyes of our Kindergarten students.
We’ve had a wonderful start to the year in Kindergarten! It’s been exciting to see all the children settling into their new routines and making new friends. Establishing consistent daily routines helps our little learners feel safe and confident as they explore and grow.
This term, we have begun the Best Start Assessment, which helps us understand each child’s current skills in areas like language, literacy, and numeracy. This assessment guides our planning so we can support every child’s learning journey effectively. More information about your child's results will be given to parents later in the Term.
In English lessons, we are focusing on building vocabulary and listening skills through fun stories, songs, and interactive activities. The children are loving our story time sessions, which encourage a love of reading and help develop their speaking and comprehension skills. Home readers were sent home on Monday. This Term students are encouraged to share stories with their family and draw their favourite story. Can you please return Home Readers every Friday.
We have already had our first excursion to the pool for the swimming carnival. A fun afternoon was had by students who participated in swimming and games. Also last week we had a visit from Miss Burton and the school chickens.
A quick reminder for parents: please send your child with a paint shirt to protect their clothes during art and craft activities. Also, remember to label all your child’s clothing and belongings clearly to help us keep track of their items.
Thank you for your support in making this term a positive start to your child’s school journey. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mrs Hunt.
