Kids Giving Back

Celebrating Your Students’ Impact

The following students joined over 1300 young changemakers who prepared and delivered more than 11 500 meals, snack packs, and care packages, along with heartfelt notes of encouragement for those in need. Together, they supported 15 Sydney charities! A remarkable contribution that speaks volumes about the values your school instils.

Research shows that young people who volunteer build stronger social connections, better wellbeing, and a sense of belonging. Your students embodied all of this, and we are so proud to see them leading with heart.

What’s Coming Up

We’d love to welcome more of your students and families into our programs:

  • October School Holiday Programs – Bookings now open (flyer attached for your newsletter).
  • Community Programs – Weekend family volunteering for ages 5+, plus special events like Father’s Day Cook4Good (flyer attached for your newsletter).
  • Service-Learning (Excursions & Incursions) – Hands-on experiences at our Hub or at your school, linking real-world issues with wellbeing, civics & citizenship, and PDHPE.

New Programs for Schools

  • Scones & Stories – Our much-loved structured intergenerational program connects students with older residents through letter exchanges, preparation sessions, and shared experiences of scones, games, and storytelling. Students can either visit aged care homes or welcome residents to your school. The program builds empathy, confidence, and social responsibility while bringing joy and companionship to older adults.  (Flyer for your information). We’d love to chat further about this program if it sparks your interest!
  • Donation Drives – A wonderful way for the whole school to unite. We provide all resources, handle communication, and match donations with our charity partners so collections go directly to those most in need. It’s a wonderful initiative that engages the whole school.

AFL - Magpies

Keep playing AFL with your local community club!

The recent AFL training sessions have been a huge success!

If your child enjoyed their time on the field, we invite them to continue the fun by joining the Inner West Magpies Junior AFL Club.

Just a short walk away at WH Wagener Oval, our club provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for all boys and girls from our school. Whether they're new to the game or already a star, we'd love to have them!

Join the team and become part of our local community! For more information, visit https://innerwestmagpiesjuniorafl.au/ or call Greg Lamrock on 0413 537 211

We have open days coming up in October if you are interested.
