Goodbye winter!
Our Year 1 students have been looking at the seasons and have made several artworks about winter. We looked at the colours, symbols and images related to winter: snowmen, the Yeti and stormy skies with bare dark trees in cool blues and greys. We used chalk pastels with clean and smudging techniques. We were inspired by how artists such as Claude Monet, Raymond Briggs and Erin Murphy represented wintry scenes.
Students are encouraged to develop their creativity skills at home and are invited to make artworks for possible inclusion in network and community art competitions;
