Dear Parents & Carers,
We are now past the halfway mark of Term 3, with only 21 teaching days remaining until the end of the term.
Two weeks ago, we celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady, taken body and soul into Heaven. Thank you to Father Richard for presiding over the Mass, as always. I shared with the children on the day that “Our Lady, God the Father, Jesus, and all the angels and saints would have been smiling down on us throughout the Mass.” Their singing and reverence were truly exemplary. A special thanks to all staff involved in preparing such a prayerful celebration.
Thank you also to the families who have shared comments in response to my recent Catholic Weekly article regarding the upcoming Archdiocesan Synod in 2026. I have been part of the Synod working committee since its commencement in July 2024, and we look forward to the first regional gatherings, which begin in Menai this Saturday.

On Tuesday night, many dads, grandads, uncles, and father figures joined nearly 100 children and staff for our annual Winter Sleepout. This experience offered our students the opportunity to learn about and empathise with those experiencing homelessness, while also reflecting on our Catholic Social Teaching. It was a wonderful occasion for fathers and children to spend quality time together here at school, and a strong expression of our school’s Catholic identity.
This morning, our much-loved Book Week Parade took place. Thank you to the many parents who contributed to the success of the day. This event continues to nurture a love of reading across our school, and we are proud to enjoy a vibrant and fully functioning library, so ably led by Mrs Karvevski.
Thank you to the 57 families who participated in our recent parent survey. Once our students have completed their survey, we will share the results with the community. As I have mentioned previously, these termly surveys provide an important opportunity for families to contribute to the life of the school. Just a reminder that parents are welcome to request a meeting with their child’s teacher at any stage during the term by emailing the office so a suitable time can be arranged.
Please keep all the children making the Sacrament of Confirmation in your prayers this coming Friday night.
Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable weekend with your families.
Brian
