Foundation Term 2 News!

Welcome back for Term 2! We are so excited to begin another term full of learning and excitement. This is some of the key learning we will be exploring this term.

Numeracy

This term, students will explore Measurement, Number and Data. They will sequence days of the week and times of the day, connect routines to familiar events, sort and compare objects, count collections to 20, and begin using addition and subtraction strategies. They will also collect and discuss simple data using everyday experiences.

English

In Literacy, students will engage with shared texts, retell familiar stories and respond to key ideas. Speaking and Listening activities will support vocabulary development, discussions and confidence in sharing ideas. In Writing, students will create simple sentences, use phonetic spelling, and continue developing letter-sound knowledge, including CVC words.

Chinese

Students will learn character formation, stroke order, vocabulary and sentence patterns through speaking, reading and writing activities.

Homework

Navy folders should be brought to school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. English readers will be changed on Wednesdays. For Foundation, homework is about building positive learning habits and creating meaningful opportunities for students to review and practise skills taught in the classroom. 

SEL (Social and Emotional Learning)

Students will continue developing emotional awareness, self-regulation, respectful relationships, cooperation and confidence through classroom activities and group learning experiences.
